Everything You Need to Know About Choosing Supplements

Sierra--choosing-your-supplYou’re tired. You’re bloated. Your joints ache, hair thins, indigestion is a regular problem, and you’re constantly plagued by cravings. If you relate to any or all of those problems, you may also relate to feeling a bit lost when it comes to choosing your supplements.

Selecting the proper supplements and learning how to coordinate your choices efficiently can sometimes seem quite daunting. When you are experiencing multiple ailments that all have multiple remedies, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Also, many of us have a variety of health goals, but the idea of taking handfuls of supplements every day does not seem appealing. By keeping the following points in mind, you may find that creating a plan of action for yourself can not only be as simple as asking yourself a few questions, but it can also be a rather rewarding process.

How to Prioritize

The most accurate way to assess your supplement needs is to invest in self-testing. UNI KEY offers a variety of tests with different focuses to help customize individual protocols. Speaking with a UNI KEY Wellness Consultant makes it very easy to decide which tests would be most appropriate for your health goals, and the results are complete with personalized dietary, supplemental, and lifestyle recommendations.

Another approach that I like to use is to prioritize and rotate. This is as simple as asking yourself, “what is most important to me?” By dividing your goals into smaller objectives, your goals become more manageable.  First, you must decide what is practical for you. Are you someone that can only take one or two different supplements per day, or are you comfortable with expanding that to four or five? Pick the ones that you think you’ll get the most benefit out of.

Personalize Your Plan

The UNI KEY Wellness Consultants are great resources for helping you decide. When you have devised a plan, follow through for three to six months. After that time, you should reassess. Perhaps you have achieved your desired results, and now you would like to choose a different focus. Alternately, you may want to continue, but now you feel comfortable adding different goals to the mix. Listen to your body and you can’t go wrong.

Dietary Sources

You might also find that taking a different approach is the best way to accomplish your goals. If you are intimidated by the idea of taking numerous supplements per day, research which foods you might be able to increase in your diet to achieve the same nutritional benefit. You might find that adding two eggs daily provides a sufficient amount of Zinc and Vitamin A so that you don’t need to take an adrenal support. If you struggle to remember your omega-3 supplement, try adding a teaspoon of flavored fish oil to your daily smoothie. And if your Salivary Hormone Test indicates that you should have Dandelion Root Capsules to help cleanse your liver, you may choose to drink a cup of Roasted Dandelion Root Tea instead.

The important thing to remember is not to feel overwhelmed. There are numerous resources available to help streamline your health goals and create a plan of action! If you’re stumped and not sure where to begin, don’t hesitate to call and speak with one of the knowledgeable Wellness Consultants here at UNI KEY.

I’d never thought of self-testing before! I’m glad to have found out UNI KEY does tests, and can help me decipher what I need to do about the results.

I love the TMA as well. You can really pinpoint what your body needs or if its getting to much of a good thing.
